Quilts and Patches

I cannot quilt.  I can barely sew a straight line.  But I can cut paper so this project for the challenge over at Penny's Paper Crafty, was fun!  The challenge is ANYTHING GOES and the DT is using images from QKR Stampede.

Used a lot of scraps to make the front.  The inside was just a printed paper because making all those triangles was a lot and I just don't know how quilters do it.

I Lick You

These Popsicles are from the Simply Charmed cartridge.  They are so cute.  I used the tongue from the Grooming Cat on Meow for the licking popsicle.  I wanted to use a play on words... I like you... I lick you.  But, it just doesn't come out right..ha ha ha, so I just used I LIKE YOU as the sentiment inside.

I had two kinds of popsicle paper and I layered them and it came out pretty cute.  I hope it made you laugh.

I Believe In You

Penny's Challenge 338 - July 19th - Anything Goes

This is the Bugaboo "I Believe In You" Unicorn set.  I love this set, it just makes me laugh and I've been in love with Bugaboo squares of late.
For this set, I layered the card with a light blue paper, used a #Darice Field of Flowers folder... inked up the folder and ran it through the cuttlebug  to get these great ink embossed paper that I layered on the blue.
Each square is matted and mounted 3 times with purple pink and white paper.  Pink and yellow silk ribbons layered and lined along with Cricut Scallop Edges Cut lined along the ribbon

Creating trees

Learning how to slice things so you can create off the mat has been a huge learning curve for me. But, after I learned I went crazy with posting some trees that our Children's Minister wanted at our church.

5.    For

Scrapbook Stamp Society - Monochrome

Trees 3 &  4 - I didn't cut personally but had someone else cut for me.  I put them up though, and all of them end up being a huge jigsaw puzzle to put on the wall!  Ha ha ha.  Anyway 3 & 4 were just too complicated for me to get right.

I used the following Cricut Cartridges and my own SVG cuts:

Stretch Your Imagination, Jubilee, Wild Card and Cindy Loo

The Paper Shelter

This image is the Lil' Cowboy from The Paper Shelter

I added some images from Cricut's Old West cartridge - the wood frame and rope, the cactus is from New Mexico Destinations.

I had this fun bandana paper and used most of what I had left of it on this project.

There is no interior sentiment.  I'll think of one later.

Birthday Surprise!

This birthday box project is a "Make It" project from Cricut's Access choices.  We don't always have to be creative on our own  when we use these projects.  Sometimes tweaking them on our own - creating specifically for the person we are giving them to is enough.

Below are the descriptions from the Make It Project.  Added together they made this fun project.

I used Happy Birthday Ribbon that I had in my stash and some flowers from my stash with #EyeletOutlet brads, DCVW papers, Xyron runner tape, and Red double sided tape.  This project made up quickly in less than one hour.   This project entered in the following challenge: Avenue 613: #199 Anything Goes (Twist Monochrome)

This was a quick and fun project which has encouraged me to look more into the Make-It projects offered on the Cricut Design Space platform.  There's no way the recipient isn't going to ewwww and awwww over the "made for her" packaging that holds her gift.

Multiple uses for one project

The challenge over at Fantabulous Cricut is Something Patriotic

Our sponsor is Dreaming Tree SVG cuts.  I decided to combine some traditional Cricut cuts (Stars and stripes) along with some Dreaming Tree cuts.  This Cherry Bomb hanging Vase/Lantern is one and the Cosmos flowers another.

I cut extra stars from the Cricut George and Basic Shapes cartridge and used the stripes to create little shooting stars in the arrangement.  The Cosmos are adorable, I had those green opalescent brads in my stash and they were the perfect centers to my flowers.

The Cherry Bomb Lantern can hang and light up with fake candles put in it.  It would be adorable that way too.......

The photo's a little blurry because of the shutter speed, but you get the gist.
This was a fun project to take on and Dreaming Tree is an excellent place to expand your Cricut horizons

Here are the cosmos flowers together with some origami flowers I made creating a small bouquet for my table

Anything Goes!!!!!

Over at Penny's Crafty Paper Challenge  the challenge #334 is Anything Goes.  A time to let it rip with whatever you want to put in.  The Design Team is working with #Bugaboo images and so I got to have some fun with these designs

This Dog set of 4 Squares by Bugaboo was so darling to me.   I could see how this card could be an OOPS,  used as a masculine card, a Just Peeking in on You, or various other sentiments.  The one I chose for this card was HELLO.

Fred She Said

The challenge over at Penny's Crafty Paper Challenges is Anything Goes.  The DT are using Fred She Said images.  I used two different images on this card

The flowers and grass are a background image called "Doodle Flower Trio" that I sized and cropped , added buttons to the flowers and the little boy is "Nolan with a sign," you can get the image blank but it also comes with 4 pre-printed signs.  I used the "How U doin'?!" sign.

I had this little "Hey" word bubble that came in a grab-bag I received, and it was perfect for this card and to balance out the butterfly.   Come join us a Penny's Challenges

Masculine Card for Father's Day and - Bugaboo

With Father's Day quickly approaching the need for masculine cards is imminent!  I've made two using the cricut.  The first I used George and Basic Shapes to create squares for the front of my card and for the sentiment.  I used the cuddle bug to emboss grass on the lower half of the card.

The image is Guy Walking Dog from Bugaboo Digital Stamps.  I just loved this image because it is what my husband does all the time, walking the dog and picking up poop so I don't have to! He's so sweet that way and he deserves a card for Father's day if only for that. But he is also a magnificent dad and papa!
I used Paper Smooches to created the holes lining the sentiment rectangle.  Colored the image with copic markers and my #UniballWhiteOpaquePen  The Sun and Cloud brads are from #EyeletOutletRibbon is from my stash.  I fussy cut around the image and popped it up with foam squares for depth.

This card entered in the following challenge:  Cardz4Guyz - #171 Something Blue

The inside sentiment, Happy Father's Day! Both sentiments printed on my printer.  I really liked how this card turned out!

My second card is the card that I made for my father.  It's a Pop and Twist Card.  I used Cricut Images on each of the sections of the card.  My dad loves cars and so there is a car to represent the ages he is......

I used a quote from Dr. Seuss, "Oh The Places We  Will Go" for the sentiment inside and the classic kid question, "Are We There Yet?"

Each of the cuts are from: Beep BeepDisney Mickey and FriendsOutdoor ManNifty FiftiesArt Deco

Dr Digi's Quackers

The challenge at Penny's this week had us using images from Dr. Digi's.  There are some great images there.  I chose the Quackers image and made a pedestal card.

I colored this image with my copic markers

Cricut Cuts - Get Well Chicken Noodle Soup Can
and Get Well Soon sign
Both cuts were print and cuts
Sentiment printed on printer

I included this instruction sticker (that I found on Pinterest) on the back of the card:

Just Because

Sometimes you need some "Just Because.... I was thinking of you" cards in your stash.  I had some fun coloring this Tea Rose - Tea Cup from Close To My Heart.  Colored with my copic markers,
Fancy Pants Paper, stash ribbon,

The close to my heart stamps came with matching Die Cuts, which make me happy anytime I don't have to do fussy cuts!

Sasayaki Glitter Digital Stamp

Challenge 331 at Penny's Crafty Paper Challenges

The Design Team over at Penny's are using Sasayaki Glitter images for our Anything Goes challenge.

This is the little mermaid image from Sasayaki Glitter digital stamps.   You can Like their facebook page here.

I colored this image with
Copic Markers and Copic Spica Markers
White Opaque Pen
Cricut Jellyfish and Shellfish
Cricut Circle w/scallop cut
Paper Flowers and Brads
My own personal"Thinking of You" stamp
Pearl Stickers for bubbles

Inner cut is "Mermaid Love" svg cut

I really enjoyed coloring this image, which I ended up coloring twice, when the original one I colored was destroyed by my stupidity in stamping.  Arrrgghh.  Don't you hate that.  My original one was colored PERFECTLY too.  I did it again and got it framed and carded and I was happy with it.  I made it for my grand-daughter, Ruby, who is quite the fish herself -- since she lives in Hawaii, she's always at the beach.

Sasayaki has some adorable digital images.
Have a look and good luck in the Penny's challenge.
